GUS AND THE GRUMBLE
Written by Aimée Feenan
Illustrated by Lisa De Souza

Written in rhyme, the theme of this story is fear of the unknown, and how quickly it can spread. It highlights the value in having friends to share worries with and demonstrates that things aren’t always as scary as they first seem.

Set in an Indian jungle, there are five central characters: Gus the Indian elephant, Monkey the lion-tailed macaque, Hugo the sloth bear, Rory the Bengal tiger, and Python the Indian rock python.

Gus the Indian elephant hears a scary noise, the “Grumble”, so he hides away from it until Monkey lands right by him, with a bump. Monkey doesn’t believe in things like the “Grumble”, but before long the fear has spread, and more and more jungle friends join Monkey and Gus, finding themselves hiding together until they work out what the “Grumble” really is!

Originally published in 2016, "Gus and the Grumble" was republished in 2025 as this charming revised edition.

A WARTHOG WITH WIND - coming 2026
Written by Aimée Feenan
Illustrated by Lisa De Souza

This story stinks!

No really, it does. To be honest, when you get your hands on this one, you'll count yourself lucky that reading this book isn't truly immersive.

Set in Africa, “A Warthog with Wind” is a fun rhyming story that follows Wallace the warthog as he tries to find his friends. The problem is, Wallace has a stinky habit, and he causes a lot of disgust amongst the other savannah animals as he continues with his search.

Fortunately, Wallace meets a kind giraffe, Francis, who uses his height advantage to help in the search. This story highlights the importance of kindness despite traits that might put some off!
